Production company Studio Dragon has achieved its highest sales yet. Studio Dragon Corporation (Korean: 스튜디오드래곤 주식회사; RR: Seutyudiodeuraegon Jusikhoesa) is a South Korean drama production company under CJ ENM's E&M division. It was established on May 3, 2016 as a spin-off from E&M Media Content. On November 7, Studio Dragon revealed its third-quarter sales of 131.2 billion won (approximately $113.6 million). This is an increase of 6 percent from last year and is the company’s largest quarter sales. The company has recorded sales around 100 billion won (approximately $86.6 million) for three consecutive quarters in 2019. On March 25, Studio Dragon revealed through a public announcement that they will buy 200,000 stocks (100 percent) from GT:st at 25 billion won (approximately $22 million) in cash. Screenwriter Noh Hee Kyung, producing directors (PD) Kim Gyu Tae and Hong Jong Chan, and more creators are part of the drama production company GT:st. Noh Hee Kyung is the writer behind famous dramas “Worlds Within,” “That Winter, the Wind Blows,” “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “Dear My Friends,” and “Live.” PD Kim Gyu Tae frequently worked with the writer, directing “Worlds Within,” “IRIS,” “That Winter, the Wind Blows,” “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” and “Live.” Hong Jong Chan is the PD behind “Live Up to Your Name,” “Dear My Friends,” and upcoming drama “Her Private Life,” starring Park Min Young and Kim Jae Wook.

Out of the 131.2 billion won, regular broadcasting sales that distribute television rights to broadcast sting networks rose 24.4 percent from last year and recorded 60.8 billion won (approximately $52.7 million). Studio Dragon also recorded a business profit of 10.9 billion won (approximately $9.4 million) and a net profit of 11.5 billion won (approximately $10 million). The biggest factors behind its success are expansion of production and editing, and diversification of channels including major broadcasting networks, which have aired dramas such as MBC’s “One Spring Night” and SBS’s “Doctor John.” Studio Dragon also strengthened its large-scale IP (intellectual property) through tvN’s “Arthdal Chronicles” and “Hotel Del Luna” and expanded its field of business through Netflix’s “Love Alarm.” 

In the fourth quarter, Studio Dragon plans to maximize performance through dramas such as tvN’s “Catch the Ghost” and “Crash Landing on You,” and focus on expanding its global field of business. The production company is currently working to sign remake and studio option contracts with major U.S. and Asian countries. It’s also currently in discussion for three dramas with Netflix and cooperations with additional global players. A source from Studio Dragon said, “With the launch of the global OTT (over-the-top media services, also known as streaming media services), we will continue. Next year, we will work on IP remake, global cooperation, production, and distribution in order to achieve early success upon entering the U.S. We plan to increase our medium-term overseas sales by up to 50 percent.”

To be short, Hotel del luna is a drama about afterlife, a ghost and soul, unjustified death and revenge. [BREAKING] OUR BELOVED ACTRESS FOUND DEATH IN A HOTEL ROOM

There is another sad news about a possibility of suicide happened again in Korean entertainment industry. International fans might not familiar with her name, yet she was a veteran actresses who still got so many jobs in her pocket till today, she is jeon mi sun. Unfortunately, today on june 29, 2019, she was reportedly found dead inside her bathroom, in a hotel room in Jeonju, north jeolla province.

 A source from the North Jeolla fire department stated, “It was around 11:43 a.m. KST when they received the call from Jeon mi sun manager and were dispatched soon after. Jeon mi sun was not breathing, unconscious, had no pulse, and her heart was not beating when the rescuers arrived. The ECG (electrocardiogram) showed a state of asystole.

Jeon mi sun then forwarded to police for further investigation toward her death. Currently, the cause of death was assumed to be suicide by hanging herself.

The actress was at the hotel for Jeonju performance of the play “3 Days and 2 Nights with My Mother” (project) and after this unfortunate event, this project is cancelled.

Jeon mi sun has been act in a lot of high rating drama, with her versatility to play both a villain and protagonist role, a rich mother or a poor one. Her knowable role in drama including : the latest : he is psychometric, baker king kim tak gu, Chicago typewriter, love in the moonlight, six flying dragon, the moon embrace the sun, reply 1988 and many more.

It is such a great lost in k drama scene to lost a good actress who is so good to play the older character, and especially not caused by natural death. We offer our deepest condolences to Jeon Mi Sun’s family.

SUMMARY OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN 2019 [MID YEAR EDITION] K ENTERTAINMENT

This is a short recap to what happened in 2019. Well, let me warn you first, since this year might be the "worst" year of many kpop fans out there in the world. Especially if you're a stan of YG entertainment who actually produce a lot of good music and style. Without further ado, let's see what's happening in this 2019.

1. DRUGS and PROSTITUTION scandal, as well as all the BAD THINGS

This including all criminal act like money laundering, illegal prostitution, drugs use, drugs rape, sexual assault and assault under influence. Many idols, boy group member, and even actress already charged with this issues. If we want to start from the big one, it will be Seungri case, ex Bigbang member who decide to retire from entertainment industry after his "Burning Sun" scandal got big. In short, Seungri was officially charged with various criminal action. According to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, Seungri faces charges related to embezzlement, destruction of evidence, violation of laws on sex trade, sexual crimes and food hygiene. Seungri is suspected of procuring prostitution for personal and business acquaintances from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan from December 2015 to January 2016. He is also suspected of buying sex himself. This case has been referred to prosecutors for further development

This "Burning sun" led to another domino effect which eventually bring down several "big names" down. The popular "troublesome chat group" who is then accused as illegally shared sexual content (hidden sex taping) and drug rape is next. Some stars who got caught are jung joon young, FT Island Jong hyun, CN BLUE Jong hyun, Roy kim, Singers Jeong Jinwood and  Kangin, ex super junior member.

This might not be enough, because after this scandal, another big name from YG entertainment popped out, and it turns out as B.I from Ikon 's leader. He was charged for drug scandal, get caught buying and using the drugs. This scandal led to his withdrawal from the group and another early retirement. This accumulative scandal let YG stock dropped and to save it, the current CEO, Yang Hyun Suk and his brother, Yang Min Suk steps down as CEO and lead director.

2. BTS become more and more approachable and unbeatable wall.

Let's not talk only about bad things. BTS were heading out on their BTS World Tour: Love Yourself jaunt this summer with dates across North America, Europe and two nights at London’s Wembley Stadium in June. All the tours are completely sold out and they even make additional concert.

According to StubHub UK, the world’s largest ticket marketplace, BTS have beaten the likes of Drake, Ariana Grande and Spice Girls in their list of the top-selling gigs of 2019. And this is not the only achievement that BTS got this year. Hardly a week goes by without a new record being made by BTS, and now the South Korean septet has done it again: the group’s August-release Love Yourself: Answer has officially become the best-selling album to ever appear on Korea’s Gaon Music Chart. With over 2.03 million sales, it is the highest amount ever recorded by Gaon since the chart began tracking South Korean music sales in 2010. According to a news release provided by BTS’s label Big Hit Entertainment, Love Yourself: Answer recorded cumulative sales of 4 million copies, the largest cumulative sales to date in Gaon Chart history, and one of the best-selling South Korean albums of all time.

3. Heart breaking break up
A sad news comes from K drama scene where our golden top couple, Song Jong Ki and Song hye kyo were reportedly issue a divorce. The marriage of the pair was to last just two years. After wedding in a high-profile ceremony in 2017, the actors released separate statements announcing the split on Thursday. The reason of the divorce is because the different in personality. It seems the forever ever after happy ending only will last in K drama land.

4. Possible IOI reunion
Another good news for Mnet produce series, after several denials from the executive, it turns out that the reunion of IOI, ex Produce 101 group who is disbanded in January 2017 might be possible after all. IOI is the first generation of Produce series, the original trend setter, consists of 11 talented personnel. According to members’ agencies and various industry sources on June 12, after extensive discussion over a long period of time, the group has agreed to get back together.

Participating in the reunion will be nine members: Kim Sejeong, Choi Yoojung, Chungha, Kim Sohye, Kyulkyung, Jung Chaeyeon, Kim Doyeon, Kang Mina, and Nayoung. According to the report, Jeon Somi and Yoo Yeonjung will not be joining. Jeon Somi turned down participation due to her upcoming solo debut, and Yoo Yeonjung also recently began promotions with WJSN

1. KCON LA

3. AKB48 JOIN CONCERT
According to Chinese media Yes Entertainment, AKB48 and their 6 overseas sister groups (JKT48, BNK48, MNL48, Team SH, Team TP, SGO48) will hold a joint concert AKB48 Group Asia Festival 2019 in Shanghai at National Exhibition and Convention Center, Shanghai on 24 August 2019.

4. NCT GLOBAL TOUR
NCT 127 will perform in Mexico City’s Teatro Metropolitan on May 21 before hitting Russia’s Ice Palace in Saint Petersburg on June 26 and Megasport Sport Palace in Moscow on June 29, according to SM Entertainment. Starting on April 24, the boy band will perform at a total of 12 concerts in 11 American and Canadian cities including Miami, Houston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Vancouver and Toronto.

5. BLACK PINK WORLD TOUR
BLACKPINK already performed in sizable venues throughout North America, including several arenas. In the 2nd part of 2019, Blackpink would still do their tour, in Bangkok (impact arena), Tokyo (zozo marine), Fukuoka (fukuoka dome), and even tokyo dome.

6. BTS WORLD TOUR
The Love Yourself tour will follow the release of next month’s Love Yourself: Tear album, which is slated to be released on May 18. The concert series will kick off with two shows in Seoul on August 25 and 26, then head to Los Angeles for three shows at the Staples Center during the first week of September. The record-breaking group will also perform in four other Stateside cities plus one Canadian one throughout September and October before heading to London, Amsterdam, and Berlin.

A total of 22 shows are currently announced.

People and netizen was caught surprise when Dispatch revealed their finding and make statement that Suzy and Lee minho were dating back then. They got caught when dating overseas in Europe by paparazzi. Soon after the dating article was released, agency from both side confirm the rumor. Some netizen give this couple a blessing, while some are not.

3. Yoo In-Na and Ji Hyun-Woo
In 2012, Yoo In-na and Ji Hyun-woo were co-stars in tvN’s television series Queen and I and they were both playing the leading roles as lovers. Yoo In-na starred as Choi Hee-jin, the modern and unsuccessful actress who played Queen In-hyun in the upcoming drama, she meets Ji Hyun-woo as Kim Bung-do, a noble-born scholar from the Joseon Dynasty, who traveled through time where he met Choi Hee-jin and fell in love with her. Their kissing scene was so remarkable that many people just believed that they were an actual couple just by seeing them on-screen.

On June 7th, 2012, after the last broadcast, the casts of Queen and I held a fan meeting to celebrate the ending of the drama. During the cast interviews, Ji Hyun-woo surprisingly declared that he was in love with Yoo In-na. Later, Yoo In-na and Ji Hyun-woo were once captured secretly having a date at a park near Yoo In-na’s home in Bundang, Kyeonggido on June 17th, 2017.
